Naseby battlefield
(5 miles) Mainly of interest to anyone keen on history. The landscape is virtually as it was in 1645 when the decisive battle of the civil war was fought. New viewing platforms and better interpretation boards have recently been installed at various locations.

(2 miles) A very pleasant market town with excellent shopping including a good number of independent shops, lots of coffee shops and cafes and a Museum at the rear of the District Council offices. (01858 821085).
Rockingham Castle

Kelmarsh Hall
(4 miles on A508) A delighful Palladian style house and interesting gardens. Well worth a visit. Restricted opening. Teas now available at weekends. www.kelmarsh.com.
All Saints Church at Brixworth
(10 miles on A508) built by the Saxons in around 750 AD. Unique as one of very few surviving Saxon churches (with Norman additions) in Europe.
