Farndon Dale (£7.50) A white wine made exclusively from the Madeleine Angevine grape, a variety which is unique to this country. It has always been popular with growers in the Midlands and West country for it's ability to produce good wine regardless of the weather. A useful variety in the summers of 2007 and 2008. Dry to Medium dry (depending on the year). with a crisp acidity. Long lived and needs some bottle age.
Bacchus (£7.50) A white wine made from the Bacchus grape, a Riesling x Sylvaner crossing from Germany. It is a low cropper but the wine quality is very highly rated. Typically this wine has an elderflower bouquet and a refrehing hint of lemon and lime in the taste. Medium dry.
Phoenix (£7.50) A white wine made from the Phoenix grape (a crossing of the Bacchus grape) which is a new introduction from Germany. Drier and not as full bodied as Bacchus. Proving very popular.
Steeplechase (£15.00) Our bottle fermented 3 year old 'Quality Sparkling Wine' made from the Seyval blanc and Reichensteiner grapes. This blend of French and German grape varieties gives us the crisp fruity taste we like. Our customers prefer it to the often too dry and more expensive equivalent from Champagne. The name for this wine was chosen because the National Hunt Steeplechase was run around our vineyard hill for four years commencing in 1865. 2006 vintage in stock and drinking well. .
Tickled Pink (£15.00) Our very successful new bottle fermented pink Sparkling, which is ideal for summer drinking. 2007 vintage now in stock..
Hunting Pink (£7.50) A rose' only made during years when there are red grapes to spare. A very small stock of the 2009 is left.
Naseby 2006 (£7.50) A full bodied dry red wine made from the early ripening Rondo, which is of Russian origin and Regent - two vines widely planted for red wine in the U.K. Aged in burgundy oak. The name of the wine was chosen due to the vineyard's proximity to the battle of Naseby 'the decisive battle of the English Civil War' which was fought in 1645.
Roundhead cider (£2.00) Our cider is made from a blend of cider apples which we grow in the vineyard. Still dry and medium cider at 6.5% strength. Both available.
Discount for a case of 12 bottles, which may be mixed, is 5%.
